Policies & Procedures

At EnChanted Paw, we understand how stressful a typical grooming shop can be. It can be noisy, have numerous dogs and in a lot of cases, your pet spends time in a crate. Our goal is to provide a low stress environment with individual appointments only. This allows for your pet to only remain with us for the duration of the groom, being worked on straight through. Since there are no day long stays and they are picked up upon completion, there is no need for a crate!

Due to our individual appointments, we provide grooming services to a lot of clients that cannot be around other dogs. Some dogs are aggressive, fearful, or cannot be crated at all. These dogs do not do well in your traditional grooming environment and even if your dog may be friendly, that does not mean that other dogs respond the same way.

In order to provide grooming services for these dogs and to maintain a safe, crate free environment with no multiple household interaction, no more than one dog per staff will be permitted in the salon at a time. The only exception to this rule are households that have more than one dog.

Drop-Off / Pick-Up:

All appointments are booked with an allotted amount of time between each appointment. This time frame is based on the average amount of time that would be required to complete a groom on that particular breed and service required. For the convenience of other clients, their appointments, scheduling efficiency, and for dogs to have the shortest stay necessary, any arrivals more than 15 minutes late for their appointments risk being considered a No- Show and being rescheduled for another date or time.

To minimize multi-household interaction, ensure that dogs being worked on have our undivided attention, and prevent delays in completion of current appointments, dogs will NOT be checked in before their appointment times. Dogs will only be accepted before appointment times if there were prior arrangements made or the previous appointment has been completed early and has been picked up.

Dogs can be unpredictable and sometimes may need more time than expected to safely complete the groom. Or, if a dog has not been groomed in a while, may be more work than anticipated. Please allow yourself a 15 minute buffer from your appointment time incase we are behind schedule with the previous appointment. If we expect to be later than 15 minutes, we will notify you at least 30 minutes before your appointment.

At drop off, you will be told what time the next appointment will be arriving. Please ensure that you are here 5 minutes before that time so you are available for immediate hand off upon completion and to minimize wait times for the next appointment. If there will be any changes in timing (ie. finishing early or will be later than 15 minutes), we will give you 30 minutes notice.

Upon arrival, please wait by your vehicle. We will either invite you in or come out to you when we are available to check your dog in/out. Do NOT knock. Dogs get excited when someone is at the door and we have sharp blades in faces. If you need to reach us, please TEXT 613-206-3435. To minimize delays, phone calls are ignored within the final 15 minutes of a groom.

Leashes:

For the safety of your pet and others, at drop-off and pick-up, all dogs MUST be either leashed with a properly fitted collar or harness, carried, or in a carrier. Just  because your dog is friendly doesn't mean that every other dog is. Some dogs will view other dogs running to them as a threat and will lash out to protect themselves or their owners.

Like people, dogs can have bad moods and bad days. If you were having a bad day or are stressed and someone who is extremely high energy/perky got all in your face, invading your personal space and forcing you to interact with them, how would you react?

Like people, not all dogs like each other. Some dogs don't like other dogs or a particular dog can rub them the wrong way. Which can result in a well intentioned, friendly, "uncontrolled" dog being attached.

It is important to have control of your dog at all times. Regardless of how friendly or how well trained you think they are.

Flexi leashes allowed to extend longer than 6 feet does NOT count as maintaining control of your dog.
